An extremely well preserved HJ field cap (also known as a Sommer Mtze or summer cap), constructed of light brown cotton twill. The cap is fully surrounded by decorative side walls, secured in place with a row of machine stitching and topped along the seam by a band of red piping which fully trims the cap. Stitched onto the lower peak is a multi coloured and embroidered HJ insignia measuring 15 mm (w) x 25 mm (h). The interior is fully
