I've figured out that it is not surprisingly known as spike, or spiked chain, often used as decorative barrier. This chain definitely has some age to it, making for a nice combination of soft silvery surface and spiky form. 86 inches long x 2" wide. Links measure about 2 1 2" x 1 1 8". Very nicely
